Many moons ago I had a lense on Squidoo for the Artful Alphabet, in their wisdom they deleted it because they said it contained unsuitable material, which it didnt, I dont see how a page with lists of colours, techniques and themes sorted in an A-Z list can be unsuitable but anyway their loss! I’ve since found my original list on the wayback machine and have imported it on my blog here, you can see it on the following link:
Some of it is dated cos I wrote it donkeys years ago, but you get the idea. If you’d like to see anything on the list just post a comment!
Thanks a lot
I just had to share this picture I took this morning of torn tissue papers, doesn’t it take you back to primary school days!?
This is a textured frame that I have been working on lately, believe it or not I actually I used clean cat litter glued onto the wooden frame to give it a texture! Yup I must be losing my marbles, either that or I’m just a texture freak!
Once the glue had dried I gessoed over with white gesso and then painted over with purple acrylic paint and interference medium.
Close up of the texture:
I love working with interference medium because it makes the pieces shimmer, when you hold it up to the light you get different colour changes!
I haven’t decided what I’m going to put in the frame yet, I’ll keep you posted!
I’ve been using a tall media tower traditionally used for storing DVDs and Cds to hold my stash of acrylic paints in.
Today I had the idea of flipping the media tower round and placing it horizontally across my desk so that I could access the paints easier and store stuff on top of it too.
This is what my work desk looks like at this moment in time, it’s quite tidy-ish for once because I am in between projects deciding what to create next so it won’t stay like that for very long!
The piece you can see on my desk is the large pad of artist paper I always work on to catch all the drips, and wipe off excess paint and test colours on as I am working.
I’m linking this to the WOYWW What’s On Your Worktop Wednesday blog while the idea is fresh in my head before I forget!
I picked up these free printed masks today from MacDonald, I saw their faces and they made me smile! I figured I could find a way to use them in an art project
