Lately I’ve been playing around with acrylic paints, I love just slapping down the colours and seeing how the colours react next to each other. I love the patterns that the brush makes and I also love the feel of paint on my fingertips whilst I’m fingerpainting.
I never pay much attention to what I’m painting when I’m in a ‘play zone’, instead I just let mind wander and paint anything that comes to mind. Because it’s not about what you paint, it’s about the fact you are painting.
Here are some of the recent paintings and shapes I did just because:

This is a painting I’ve been playing with lately, it started life as one of my mop up messy pages that I use for wiping off excess paint and inks on. I just started playing with shapes and colours using my paint brush and vibrant colours of acrylic paint until I liked how it looked.
Lately I’ve been playing around with doodling inside my sketchbook using drawing pens, pencils and watercolours, I really love exploring shapes in this way and find it very calming.
My obsession with light bulbs is going from strength to strength and shows no signs of slowing down
Here’s a couple of doodle type pages I did in my new Sketchbook using watercolour to add colour to them:
Over on Cafe Dell Arte facebook group we are all embarking on a group project of doodling inside the Art Doodle Love book which you can see below:
The book itself is incredible, it has lots of pages which are already painted and full of colour and inspiration for you to doodle right into!
Here is my first page in my book:
